"The challenge: Old vegetation, over grown and blocking ocean view, couldn't grow anything new, small space, no time to take care of anything, I don't like to see dirt and love color. Create something that would fit into the small space, extremely low maintenance and fit with our Mediterranean style home.
The ideas: Plants that are low maintenance, colorful, fragrant, ground cover and un-obstructing of the ocean view.
The plan: Remove just about everything, re-fill with new soil for the new plants, thin out the birds of paradise, keep bulbs of gladiolas and keep the ajuga that was in good shape for replanting. AND keep within a very modest budget.
The results: Beautiful arrangement around the water fountain of plants, carpet roses, colorful statice, lamb's ears, tropical feel with the cannas in orange, red and yellow. I haven't done a thing with this area since it was planted. Now that is low maintenance! Oh - and we stayed in budget! Thank you Gardenscapes by Claudia!"
